All of this stems from qualified immunity- get rid of that, make them all liable in civil and criminal court, and fire all gov employees replacing them with contractors, and all problems gone. Very complicated situation, simple solution

Is the solution to release even more murderous cannibals?https://vdare.com/posts/criminal-justice-reform-black-male-released-early-cuts-out-white-woman-s-heart-and-eats-it …

Or perhaps imprison more corrupt DAs. On the principle that the punishment should fit the crime, it seems to me that the appropriate punishment for putting innocent people in prison for 24 years might be... 24 years in prison?

Stories like this make me think that there might be even people on death row for crimes they didn't commit.

Absolutely. Years ago, so many in IL due to the gov (DA at the time) pushed for death penalty, that he was forced to commute the sentences and put a moratorium on it. A high % were later exonerated by DNA testing; between state and Chicago, I think they’re still finding cases.

It's hard to understand how poorly a system is functioning if you cannot comprehend how it functions (the current VP also withheld evidence some time ago): https://nces.ed.gov/datapoints/2019179.asp …
