Believe what you want to believe, but a friend at Google I've known and trusted for decades says that Google doesn't tweak search results to be more PC. All the suspicious-looking search results are artifacts.

I’ve tried to find older YouTube videos, wether they exist or not anymore, almost impossible to find older low view count videos. Don’t like this, or like granularity in search criteria

I would really love to know how their algorithms work. I’m worried they’re doing something they would call “unbiasing”, but the rest of the world would call it “biasing”. They are filtering results. The question is how. Comparisons to duck duck go are often very interesting
