Enjoyed this essay. It is something parents ought to read with their children before middle school, and then once a year for a few years! Then the kids might be aware of these abstractions and be very self-aware. And not care. Or maybe they'd be too prepared then to be authentic.

I was talking about "Why nerds are unpopular" by Paul Graham. Someone on this thread referred to it. I just read it. Btw, it reminded me of the book "Queen bees and wannabes.", by Rosalind Wiseman. Your essay seems more concise and sharper.
