Curious if you think market-based solutions are better ways to deploy capital than non-profits—generally speaking—because they execute better. I don’t have the answer, as I’m focused on capitalism for now — but planning to shift to philanthropy at 65 (15 years).
It depends on what the project is. Some things are best done by for-profit companies and some by nonprofits. There are lots of surprises at the border though. E.g. Manara is for-profit, though their goal is benevolent, because charging money makes students take it more seriously.

Incidentally, I recommend gradually focusing more on nonprofits instead of waiting till 65. Like investing, it's something you have to learn to do well. Better to start learning now than at 65.
