Do you think referendums are abdication of responsibility by representatives?

Literally no, at least here in California, where the representatives don't choose whether to have referenda. And of course my choice of the word "undermine" was trolling--it sounds insidious. Abdication has a similar feel, less extreme.

I want elected politicians to vote against "their" voters' wishes - at least sometimes. Always advocating for just your voters is not democracy.
