Exactly. Most of the Califugees I know fleeing the Bay Area would be ok with the ridiculously high taxes if they came with commensurately good gov services. Instead they have a gov which seems openly hostile to small business and citizen services.

However I welcome folks leaving nyc sf and la as property values are far too high, moving ppl out helps get to equilibrium where prices are rational - and not everyone craves city life, folks that wanna live on a farm or by the beach and can zoom for work are now free to do so
