Part of the reason this is possible now is technology. But another part is the evolution of funding. Boeing had to fund itself with bank loans.

Incidentally, these improvements in technology and funding are also a big, if not the biggest, cause of the increase in economic inequality at the high end of the wealth scale. You can't have valuable new companies without founders who own big chunks of their stock.

Most of it is just defunding NASA, defrauding the government, and abusing workers to make shit that explodes and to match human space achievements from 30 years ago. Hope this helps
