It's a certain mentality that fits certain people at a certain age. Noam is Israeli (like me) and the startup culture there is very intense, much more so than in SV. I was happy to do it at 25, but at 40 I couldn't stand it.
Why is it more intense? Isn't the problem of building something people want roughly the same there as in the US?

A lot of founders cut their teeth in the IDF tech units and working 18 hour days is often the norm there. It's not a problem in service when you're 20 y/o but it becomes one later on.
