Maybe just to polish it a bit. For me the last part is hardest, reading it again and again making small adjustments
Doesn't annoyance at all the flaws give you sufficient energy? It does with me.

I definitely feel the need to kill every flaw before I publish. It's a race between that and stamina to finish (or other responsibilities).

If I don't do it while it's hot in my head though, it fades for sure. Once it goes in my half finished pile I very rarely ever revisit it.
