Talked to a guy who'd had several genuinely good startup ideas. None had worked. Why? Because he was neither a programmer nor had a cofounder who was. So he had to hire them, and that put him at the mercy of partners who had nothing to recommend them except access to money.

Learning to program is much easier than starting a successful software company, so if you aren't even willing to do the first, why would you expect to succeed at the second? This only applies to software companies--you don't need to program to open a bakery, you need to bake.
