You can make Twitter mad. It’s a mob but it’s a mostly powerless mob. Do not, under any circumstances, make Reddit mad.
That's an interesting point. It sounds implausible, and yet also true. Twitter is full of talkers, but reddit users actually do stuff. Twitter is good at getting people fired, because employers are so cowardly that talk is enough to do that. But it can't do much more.

Twitter lacks object permanence due to the nature of the site. Anything not being immediately talked about disappears. Things linger on Reddit in a way that they don't on Twitter, and there are central hubs to organize within.

Every site is a meta brain, and enables some kinds of meta thoughts and not others. The project of civilization for the next hundred years may be a matter of designing sites that enable better collective thoughts than the ones we have do.
