You're right. I rejected it (isn't spacex more ambitious?) before realizing they qualified it with "software startup," not startup in general. replit may be the most ambitious software startup. It's hard to think of a vector to be more ambitious than them.

Here's some fire...all the replit innovations listed above are all just UI and plumbing. The real innovation would be...if they could trade off time vs users, and allow a million people to log on and write a complex piece of software in one night, that would be revolutionary.

It would be disastrous to be the most ambitious startup in history, because it's easy to create a startup with the ambition to change the laws of physics or to create gold from lead or whatever. All the most ambitious startups must necessarily fail.

Also, the most ambitious successful startup would be unprofitable, because it's far more ambitious to do the important things that aren't valued under capitalism than to do those that are.
