I pay a lot of attention to people who are always the same person, whether you encounter them at work, on Twitter, or randomly on the street (remember that?) But seriously, there’s something special when you can read something and hear a recognizable voice, a familiar cadence.

I thought that phenomenon was called social monitoring. It's correlated with some personality types: akin to adapting to one's environment.

Correction self-monitoring is the correct term. It isn't directly defined with social media in mind. Term came way before that.
