Is there a more poorly run city than San Francisco?
Almost certainly. But probably not one so rich that is so poorly run.
What can be done? Are there enough sufficiently motivated (and financed) San Franciscans to break the existing machine and replace it with more competent administrators?
I’m pessimistic given that this election there was ample opportunity to dump many of the problematic incumbents and instead almost all were re-elected under massive turnout conditions
I think that factors in though. The best managed lemonade stand is still just a lemonade stand.
