Is there another American city that would respond to someone making a $75 million donation to their hospital by passing a resolution condemning the naming of the hospital after him?https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/12/3/22151273/mark-zuckerberg-general-hospital-san-francisco-naming-vote …

City != Hospital. Also, Zuckerberg has done more than $75M in damage to society. Why should Zuck get praise for one good deed after a lifetime of polluting the Internet for personal profit?
-
You can't blame the blacksmith for the things that people do with the knives he made. Zuck merely created a platform that amplifies people's behavior, good or bad. He didn't pollute the internet, the people did.

In an adult world a hospital in a major US city wouldn't need a 75 million dollar private donation because it would have its funding secured by the federal government.

They are forced to do that because changing the name would require them to return the "donation".
-
Yeah is this a usual feature of large donations? ‘Contractually obligated to rebrand in exchange for payment’ whiffs more of a sale.
