YC got huge because one of the founders (@paulg) believed in an unpopular trend (Hackers can build billion dollar co's), and he was right. In order for them to stay huge, they need to believe in another unpopular trend, and be right. They can't coast on the last bet.
All 4 founders believed this, not just me. But we didn't just bet on a single trend. And YC today continues to bet on new trends. For example, startups from countries where there were hardly any in 2005.

I value that YC bets on founders in other countries. You're helping get more outsiders in the system. Not enough institutions with power do this in the Bay Area. As someone who's been rejected from YC 9 times, it's nice to be reminded there's DNA that's still willing to swing.
