I still think the best pitch for Lambda School is: "Lambda School graduates pay off their mortgages the same day that college graduates start paying back their student loans."https://twitter.com/Austen/status/1336668058190897154 …

Thanks! (Though much like facility with Ruby I'd probably describe it as "This is a skill which I have deliberately cultivated for many years and think is learnable by the overwhelming majority of people I talk to on e.g. HN." I certainly didn't have a marketing knack in 2006.)

Do you have any online writing where you talk about how you cultivated this? Something possibly along the lines of https://stackingthebricks.com/shut-up-and-take-my-money-or-how-to-pitch-so-people-will-listen/ … ?

Except you may want to use start and finish to emphasize the contrast. E.g. "Lambda School graduates finish paying off their mortgages the same day college graduates start paying back their student loans."

Imo,
@patio11 ’s shorter formulation is more digestible. People grok that “pay off” is the finish, and don’t need everything spelled out. Nit: it is also possible to remove “back” in “paying back”.

Not denying this is a huge benefit, but after taxes and living expenses, is he living in a super cheap area and devoting nearly all his salary to his mortgage?
