Focus, as Steve Jobs said, is about saying no. The only dangerous competitors are focused ones. Ergo there are things that even the most dangerous competitors say no to, and it would be worth thinking explicitly about what those are.

If I recall correctly, YC wanted every startup to have their own office to build unique company culture and avoid distractions of a co-working space.

He explained the office thing, 10+ years ago: A startup is in a way crushing a 40 year career into just a few years, for founders, and requires living to work, especially at the very start. So YC encouraged founders to roommate together, or live very close, and build in situ
