Growth had started a few weeks before, and when it did, it was fast. The week he sent that was the week they crossed into ramen profitability, which was $1000 per week in fees.

This feels more like he just realized that they were in a different market than what they originally thought. That they’re not just renting out air beds but are tapping into a greater market of available real estate space.

Exactly what I was thinking. The realization the it wasn’t about a spare room but turning your home into a <$100/night income asset. That surely must have been an infliction point.
