Anyone who's politically moderate (http://paulgraham.com/mod.html ) and interested in ideas will be arguing mostly against the left. The right is as wrong as the left, but the left is culturally dominant, so in intellectual questions, a moderate will be right of the median.

What most Americans call left would be maximal center in Europe.

I think you mean economically. Where I live in Gloucestershire, no one would know what you meant if you talked about people's "pronouns".

Yeah, but that's not what the most important part of the US left. I agree this is something still most people outside Twitter don't care about

Exactly. Left or right, majority of Americans are indifferent or don’t care about “pronouns”.

What much else is there beyond economy & defense? Identity politics are just a stand-in for the fact the we stopped debating the fundamental issues that drive the most important things in society: prosperity, wealth and social mobility.

What do someone's pronouns have to do with politics?

Only left activist care for them. Conservatives don't even know that that's a thing.

Pronouns!? That’s your first example of “left” vs “right”? Sigh. I don’t understand why this bothers you. Why is it a big deal to try to call people by the term they would prefer be used for themselves? It makes someone happier and isn’t hard. I don’t get the problem.

He didn't say that pronouns bother him. He just said they are a measure of how culturally left or right people are.

Doesn't that indicate that the left isn't "culturally dominant"?
