Anyone who's politically moderate (http://paulgraham.com/mod.html ) and interested in ideas will be arguing mostly against the left. The right is as wrong as the left, but the left is culturally dominant, so in intellectual questions, a moderate will be right of the median.

The truth will be wherever it is, regardless of who is saying what. (Perhaps the truth will be more likely to be right of the median but that shouldn't be an assumption.)

lolol, exactly this. Not sure what Paul was going on about or why he needs to affix a label like "right" or "left" to the "truth".

This assumes that "truth" (however one defines that term) is necessarily different from public opinion--and that the skew is consistent, and along the same axis as political bias. That seems to me like a lot of assumptions...

Reading that makes me think being a moderate is being indecisive and unoriginal. Accidental moderates don’t take an idealogical stance. Maybe good for making money but not how I want to live

Which one would you choose, truth or ideology? Ideology is a set of beliefs one adopts wholesale. That sounds much more unoriginal than having independent stances on each issue.

It seems just as likely that the "truth" is exactly in the median, and that the reason "the left" is culturally dominant, is that culture follows truth.

Can you just stick to startups and stay away from politics so we can all continue to look up to you.
