I receive so many letters like this one from people incarcerated in Alabama prisons. There is so much suffering as a result of the system’s failure to stop drugs and violence. New buildings wont fix that.pic.twitter.com/cV2c0pd0BB
To what extent do you think the prison authorities are on the take? Does it go higher than individual guards?

I've been told by some long time sources that anywhere between 10-20 percent of staff could be on the take. Yes, they believe it goes much higher than rank and file officers.
