The reason Y Combinator interviews aren't pitches is that 10 minutes isn't long enough for sequential access. The YC partners need random access.

10 minutes might reflect the partners valuing their time to a point of being willing to humiliate others.
Or it might be the way to give the largest possible number of founders an opportunity to get funded.
