If you have expertise in a field far removed from programming, the downside is that you're less likely to know programmers to start a company with. But there's also some upside. Your field's distance from programming may mean there are more unexploited ideas left.

I’m glad it’s hard. When I started I was told that 100 people would set off with me, but only 1 or 2 would reach the end. As time has gone on, I’ve watched them fall by the wayside. Don’t know if my current idea is the right one, but still loving the journey and learning loads.
