What you're describing actually happens in a normal interview process or contract to perm process. In both cases, the employer has most of the power but at least has skin in the game. This seems to remove any responsibility from employers while taking advantage of bootcamp grads.
There are still some employers who are skeptical of Lambda students because they don't have traditional 4-year degrees. Austen knows from experience that if employers can see them in action, they'll be convinced. That's what's really going on here.
