Many who don’t understand that life today is much better than in the past don’t know how bad the past was. Many who don’t believe that the future can be much, much better don’t know how bad the present is.

In 1924, Calvin Coolidge's 16 year old son got a blister on his foot playing tennis. He died from the resulting infection.
