How much of the success comes from deal flow/access because of his Brand Name versus actual reproducible financial fundamentals. You can easily say: Successful VC Fund = Rolodex of great Investors that gives you deals.. what’s the counter to this that you’re trying to make?
When he first started investing I thought that was what he was going to be. But he immediately hired as partners two of the smartest YC alums. As in MIT physics PhD smart. This firm digs deep into the technologies they invest in.
