One thing parents know that most non-parents don't: how much more kids can understand than you'd guess. You can talk to a 9 or 10 year old almost like an adult and they'll understand most of it.

My 10yr old daughter inquires about and critiques my early stage and public market investments near daily.
My older son does that, but the younger one is just not interested such things.

(he is interested, but knows he cannot compete. help him find his own area of expertise where he knows best, can develop his skills and he will eventually come around out of his own free interest, not family dynamics)
