The far left generates way more votes for the Republicans than the far right generates for the Democrats. Without the help of the far left, the Republicans would be much weaker.

The right has a powerful media apparatus whose bread and butter is using isolated and distorted examples of left wing activism to scare bored old people. They’ve been doing it since before there was an AOC or Antifa. Remember the New Black Panther Party?
I lived in the Bay Area for 10 years, and still have close ties to it. You don't have to distort this stuff much. It's pretty strong right out of the bottle.

I have no idea what Fox News's coverage of the left is like. What I'm saying is that they could make the far left look sufficiently extreme by saying no more than the truth.

Problem is it's not overly likely to move towards the center, not with Bay Area, AoC, etc. around, not that they should go away, but need to find way not to hand live ammunition to the GOP.
