The far left generates way more votes for the Republicans than the far right generates for the Democrats. Without the help of the far left, the Republicans would be much weaker.

I disagree, Trump lost a lot of votes from people who would really like to vote conservative otherwise.
But Trump isn't far right. In fact, he doesn't really have much in the way of political principles at all. He lost votes for his character, not for where he falls on the political spectrum.

Being "far right" is not a question of principles, it is a question of actions. His actions are far right, indeed they are roughly in line with the most extreme authoritarian dictators. The fact that he's not doing it for ideological reasons doesn't matter.

You think he lost votes only due to character? Is he not far-right by proxy, by his encouragement of policies and people that are very much on one end of the political spectrum? I agree with your frustration with certain leftisms, but he didn’t lose solely re: character.

You're confusing why you didn't like him for why dems voted out in droves against him. An easy example, minority turnout did not go up in droves to help Biden win Georgia because he "had poor character"
