@Twitter is in spite of not having such a “critical” feature for so long. Makes you wonder, is your development backlog really the thing holding you back? Or is it something else...
That's evidence of the power of network effects, not evidence that the feature isn't important.

Exactly the same how Google's YouTube still survives. The product features are garbage, never improved, and every update makes it worse. We need fewer lazy monopolists and more choice.
