I don't think Trump is even trying to organize a coup. He knows he's lost. This is all theater to increase support and donations from his more credulous supporters.

I see it more as a way to save face. He only cares about his image as a 'winner'. And he will keep twisting words, facts, stories and the reality to maintain that image (he wins, his enemies lose) - whatever the collateral damage may be.
