Weird how that’s not at all true of the overwhelming majority of working class people of color in places like Georgia and Michigan, who are dealing with similar realities It’s almost as if he’s specifically talking about white working class people without saying that explicitly.https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1324613715724013569 …

According to this exit poll published in the NYT, Trump got 26% of the nonwhite vote. Perhaps more striking, his share of this vote _increased_ since 2016.https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/11/03/us/elections/exit-polls-president.html …

Let me put the hypothesis in terms you may understand: Voter acquisition cost for Dems is much lower in communities of color than it is in white communities. Separately, you should know better than trusting exit polls days after the election, especially with such a small sample

Why is it significant that voter acquisition costs are lower for Democrats in these communities? That would tend to magnify the Democratic share of the vote, which implies that Trump's policies are even more popular among these voters than the exit poll numbers suggest.

Because if the goal is increasing the number of Dem votes (and I would argue that it is given the state of the Republican party), the most efficient path to greater Dem political success is focusing our resources on these communities.

And that in no way implies that Trump’s policies are more popular with those communities than exit polls suggest. Honestly not sure where you’re getting that.
