In India, in the 90s, there was a corrupt, strong-arm tactic called 'booth rigging'. Polling booths would be overrun by thugs who'd invalidate reams of paper ballots and replace them with ballots of their candidate. They'd often put in more ballots than registered voters. 1/n

Thankfully, by & by India shunned paper ballots and moved seamlessly to EVMs (electronic voting machines). We are the largest democracy, conduct elections smoothly, use EVMs, and finish counting votes within a few hours. Happy to advise the US in its journey to election maturity.
