    1. Bryan Caplan‏ @bryan_caplan 30 Oct 2020

How will pandemic policy change if Biden wins?

I don't expect the biggest change will be in the direction of strictness, but in organization and competence. When you project this onto strictness, you'll see some increase.

Agree. I think looking at it as "strict" vs "not" isn't right. It's a question of consistent leadership. Observed in this blog post that communication has been our most effective way to fight Covid.https://douggarnett.com/business-and-strategy/communication-has-been-our-most-effective-weapon-for-fighting-the-pandemic/ …

Biden will listen to scientists, and that will be a big change.

Yet there isn't a consensus amongst scientists. See oxford, stanford, harvard world leading ones behind great barrington decleration

The only federal role is writing checks, giving basic advice, and accelerating treatments and vaccines. None of that will change.

It will do ZERO as the virus is going to virus. You are really & genuinely kidding yourself if you think scientists & organization will change the outcome. All that would happen is a new group of politicians would be blamed for having no control of anything, w/or w/out lockdowns.

People should be treated as adults. We don't need to be treated like children. Strictness should merely be applied to facts given to American citizens as to effective tools to protect at risk people

I suspect better and more consistent communication. Perhaps better coordination with states. But not much actual difference.
