Strangely enough I'm writing an essay about this right now. What it is about our society is that new ideas are valuable. People with Asperger's are extremely independent-minded, and thus more likely to discover them.

That too. Discovery and execution aren't separate steps. Discovery is a form of execution, and execution includes a lot of discovery.
that's a fascinating concept and has massive implication for how we think of education. scaling individualized learning is of utmost importance to nurture this more broadly in society imho.

Neurotypicals spend a great deal of time subconsciously systemizing social rules. Aspies often focus on other systems that are more structured and simpler to grok for those without well-functioning social brain circuitry.
perhaps there's also an element of caring less what people say about them and more about attaining results once one embraces one's own neuro-atypical nature, it's much easier to simply get on and get done without trying to pander to the whims of those around you

Paul, would you say this affects the quality&nature of ideas? Can it be the market economy currently favors ideas that are 'socially distant', or lack a form of social empathy? Trying to rationalize the fact that so many problems we face get literally 0 interest from either side.
