The universe has an oppressive totalitarian government; it tells you what you can't do, it kills us if not enough of us don't work the way it says to, you can't leave it, and you can't vote to change it.

On Free Speech, I guess one could argue that I can still speak my mind inside my 4 walls in a totalitarian regime; same in universe- I.e., it let’s me speak freely on earth but imposes severe restrictions if I want my voice heard in other earths.

To add, to the best of my knowledge, humans are yet to prove that we are NOT living in a Hologram or Simulation controlled by someone. We may already be living within a totalitarian structure. If true, someone outside the structure must be laughing seeing us argue about freedom.
