Sure, they did a lot wrong. But only someone who's never taken that kind of risk themselves would publicly diss them for it. Anyone who's been through the startup wringer and succeeded knows how many mistakes every startup makes, and how much the outcome depends on luck.

Startups can fail. It is what it is. But $1.5+ Billion raised? For such an idea? Before launch? This was not a moonshot idea

My exact thought. When I heard of them and how much they raised and spent while laying it all on hopes of a hugely successful launch, it already felt like failures that have been seen many times. Instead of rolling out slow to see what the consumers ACTUALLY want and care about
