I don’t think that’s fully true. A functioning market depends to an extent on bargaining power by laborers. Even staunch defenders of capitalism should be afraid of pricing mechanisms breaking down bc of a feudal relationship between workers and owners. https://www.jstor.org/stable/1973315

A functioning market includes healthy labor market. Exploitation comes with cartel agreements, underemployment, or excess of unqualified workforce.
