No one disputes that Putin would prefer Trump to win. Unless you believe that Putin wants America to be stronger, surely that's evidence that Biden is a better choice.

You are oversimplifying. The biggest fear for Putin is “color revolution” in Russia, and he believes that dem party was behind color revolutions in Georgia and Ukraine (whether it’s true or not is a separate question).
