      personally I haven't had the patience or energy to run any community that's large enough to need moderators. it's been interesting to run facebook groups and discords and so on and to observe how some individuals step up more than others to influence the norms of a space

      yea this is making me think. I think maybe my model now is like, any community that persists too long is probably gonna go bad, and it's better to be kind of nimble about it. and/but yea depends on how you frame it, and we are all beneficiaries of the thankless work of others
