Prestigious institutions being captured by political extremists is an example of evolution in progress. But not in the sense they hope. Extremists can't build. So the captured institutions will wither, and be superseded by others that aren't.

I don't think you are right. Critical race theory began in the 70s and institutions have always been extreme. Elite uni graduates are also the most left wing and that trend has been a constant. It's just that their acceleration is noticeable to 80s democrats now
