I like Littlewood’s Miscellany. Of Hardy-Littlewood fame. Not quite as autobiographical as Hardy’s Apology, but has autobiographical elements.

I was about to say that Littlewood has none of Hardy's style: but then I opened it at random and found this: "An experimentalist, having spent the day looking for the leak, has had a perfect mental rest by dinner time, and overflows with minor mental activity."
