I've been trying to teach 8 yo a fairly complete list of all the ways people manipulate one another. I'm a little nervous in case I still need any as a parent.

It's scary to think that some parents *want* to manipulate their kids.
I'm raising my 8yo sister and in my experience with kids, they are most cooperative when you listen to them and acknowledge how they feel. No manipulation needed. Ever.
You never used the placebo effect by putting a band-aid on a 2 year old's scraped knee, as if that would make it better?

Even better, I've cast a spell on paper cut to make it stop hurting in 2 minutes. But 2yo kids are simple like that.
