If this helps, I've been following Boom on Twitter for months and I've just realised that this plane is not the airliner. I've never seen any mention that this was a scale model.

We called them ‘technology demonstrators’ at Beta Air. Of course it’s OK to hype those; they’re a key milestone before the final product. SpaceX did tons of those early on. Remember Grasshopper?

They open the video with 'supersonic in...', 'this is supersonic'. Unless this video is for aviation people (likely not since it's missing tech data), it's on them to describe the process. I also thought it's a scale model since it has windows but cross-section is too small.

Now that you mentioned it I understand it's just a normal early step in the process. But the video hypes it up a bit too much. I mean we don't even know if this thing will be supersonic yet.
