oh no a bunch of startup people are tweeting about a plane as if it's a operational supersonic aircraft when actually it's a scale model and it doesn't fly

Plenty of people talk about boring holes in the ground that look like subways or devices that monitor pig brain activity that isn't usable for humans. Big, hard, & ambitious ideas feed off of momentum to succeed because the journey is very long to launch.

You can say what you've accomplished so far without burying the fact that it doesn't....fly.

They put a plane that doesn't fly on a runway?! I think you're helping my point?

If you've decided to willfully ignore the headline then we've reached an impasse. You're entitled to your opinion but I disagree with your view of their intentions.

You see that and are supposed to think it's ready for an imminent test flight (after all, it's on the runway!). But it's not. That's the last video on the page, BTW. Meanwhile, they're released a ton of content that doesn't say up front where they are in development.

No, you are not supposed to think it's ready for an imminent test flight. No plane flies the day of rollout! The idea is preposterous. You're mistaking your own ignorance of aircraft production for some kind of effort by Boom to trick you.

They were very transparent with their timeline and progress to date -- certainly compared to a lot of other companies in the aerospace field. WTF is wrong with you?

I saw the XB1 tweets, and part of their fancy video, and thought they were ready to fly -- the new Concorde. So as far as I'm concerned, @gaberivera is highlighting something I didn't get from the glitzy marketing. I appreciate his highlighting it.

Problem is with the word “rollout” which is used differently in aviation than in regular language. For e.g. Amazon’s drones have been “rolledout” using aviation lingo, but we never say “rollout” because people would expect to get packages via drones.
