There must have been times, but it's as rare as someone getting too much exercise.
We see that across many sectors. In law the most valuable associate is the one that takes 11 hours to write a memo the client will pay 10 hours for. Barely competent becomes the ideal. Same in most companies - minimal viable effort. Conform or lead and do more with your time.
