Someone can have different political opinions from you and still be a good person. Your opinions might be mistaken. Or theirs might be.

paul, after reading the comments, id be (super) interested in your take on how founders/companies can manage ideological diversity when many folks think the GOP is, well, evil and deranged. I agree with you but i havent figured out a good way to respond to these common concerns

      2. its becoming a major issue in tech. Google had to disband an AI ethics group after outcry for its conservative members. Spotify, FB...its happening all over. I havent seen anyone handle it well (unless you think coinbase’s approach is the only way?).

It will probably take something like Coinbase's approach (which itself is not sharply defined, and will presumably evolve). Otherwise the problem will only get worse. The forces driving polarization are quite deep.

If you take fan requests, id like a deeper dive on this opinion. I believe you, but could i articulate a good response to the folks in this comment thread who say we cant have partners who even talk to conservatives because theyre evil? I couldnt and i hope you can articulate it

There are counties in the US that voted 90% for Trump in 2016. It's preposterous to imagine there are counties where 90% of the people are evil. It's like something out of a cheap horror movie.

There were a lot of not “evil” people who stood by and let the Holocaust happen. Not sure how you would define those bystanders.

Not to overstay my welcome on this topic because i appreciate the response, but your explanation needs something much deeper. imagine a CEO saying what you said to their employees who were up in arms (i doubt spotify could say that over the Rogan scandal). :)

If I couldn't say something like that to my employees, I'd feel I'd hired stupid people.

If those counties turn out 90% for Trump in 2020, it’s a much closer question.

Idk, we have a couple hundred years of American history that contradicts that statement. There are millions of people who still believe in white supremacy and it’s not outlandish to believe they desire to live in the same county and force “others” out.

Define evil. You are using imprecise language to construct a straw man.
