Showing 8 yo how to deal with a recalcitrant zipper on his jacket reminded me how tricky zippers actually are. There is definitely room for a new product here.

There's room for better versions of almost everything. We just don't see it because we've stopped noticing the flaws in what we have, and the complicated tricks we use to compensate for them.

Litter boxes/cat litter. Why in the world haven’t we come up with something way way better by now????

I was just thinking about this. Our cat is an outdoor cat at night and indoor during the day so we don’t have a litter box inside, but in the winter when it’s really cold we put him in the insulated garage with a litter box. Always my least favorite mornings...
