I could be biased because I've been playing guitar for the last 15 years, but I played other instruments when I was a kid and it never felt the same.

It's a very expressive instrument and has vocal like qualities. It's responsive and reflects the nuances of your touch. Techniques like string vibrato & bending differ a lot based on who's playing it and how they play it It just does a great job at conveying feelings & emotion.
